Specification of a custom flexlm server

It seems that the general environment variable  LM_LICENSE_FILE and the "license-demon" specific variable ANSYSLMD_LICENSE_FILE are  interchangeable, but not in every case.

To get license status:

LM_LICENSE_FILE=1055@server3 /ansys_inc/shared_files/licensing/linx64/lmutil lmstat -a

To use license:

ANSYSLMD_LICENSE_FILE=1055@server3 
"/ansys_inc/v145/ansys/bin/ansys145"  -g -p aa_t_a  -j file -s read -l en-us -b < inputfile

Since 2021:

ANSYSLMD_LICENSE_FILE=1055@server3 "/ansys_inc/v172/ansys/bin/ansys172" 
         -g -p ansys  -j file -s read -l en-us -b < arch_buck.inp
